Dream Maker Ventures (DMV) Diversity Fund is the first Canadian Venture Capital (VC) Fund founded by persons of colour and women, focused on investing in diverse, underrepresented, underestimated entrepreneurs. The Diversity Fund primarily invests in early-stage tech companies with founding teams inclusive of persons of colour, women, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ+, immigrant and indigenous entrepreneurs. The Fund takes a thematic approach to investing by targeting AI/ML, Blockchain, Consumer, and Enterprise software companies across Canada and the U.S. Dream Maker Ventures (DMV) was created in 2015 as the investment arm of Dream Maker Corp. (DMC), a Toronto-based vertically integrated asset management firm founded in 2003. With divisions in real estate, development, property management, and insurance, DMC has a total of half-a-billion AUM. DMV has privately invested in 17 tech companies, with notables such as Hopper, Hubba, SecondCloset, and GIMME360.
