Tanzania Development Trust is the development arm of the Britain Tanzania Society. We have been working with communities in Tanzania since 1975, and have supported hundreds of grassroots projects in that time, particularly in agriculture, education, and water. We are all volunteers and so every pound raised is spent on projects. We have a network of local representatives in the areas of Tanzania where we work. Our policy is to seek to distribute most of our income as it comes in, retaining only a small buffer, and we have no endowments. Therefore our finances are inevitably somewhat hand-to-mouth. Thus our ability to keep funding projects is critically dependent on our ongoing income.
