The Mission of The Laura Crandall Brown Foundation is to provide funding in support of research in the early detection and treatment of ovarian cancer, empower communities through gynecologic cancer awareness, and enrich lives through patient support.In 2009, Laura Crandall Brown passed away at the age of 25 from ovarian cancer. Laura constantly expressed her desire to be able to help others who might face her same battle. Laura's loving and courageous spirit inspired her family and friends to create a foundation in her honor.LCBF focuses on early detection research, awareness education, and support services for GYN cancer patients and families. Since our founding in 2009, we have:*provided emotional, educational, and direct financial support to thousands of GYN cancer patients, survivors, and co-survivors *educated tens of thousands of Alabamians on GYN cancer prevention, signs & symptoms, and risk factors*granted more than $500,000 for ovarian cancer early detection research
