Biomedical Engineering Society of India (BMESI) Manipal Chapter is a student organization based out of the university town of Manipal. The organization provides a dynamic platform for all students to learn, discuss, grow, and delve into the various facets of engineering, especially Biomedical engineering under the guidance of a highly experienced team of Professors led by H.O.D of the Biomedical Department Dr. G.M. Bairy. The organizational structure of BMESI has three levels viz. Board members, Advisory committee(3rd Year Students), Management Committee (2nd Year students), and the Working Committee (1st Year Students). The organization operations are managed through various departments namely Technical and Techno commercial, Graphics, Editorial Board, Human Resources, Operations, Publicity, Public relations, and external affairs managed by management and the working committee under the guidance of Board members and the support from the Advisory Committee. BMESI aims to provide the students with hands-on professional training on team management skills and technical training programs by organizing multiple projects headed by the Technical department for various disciplines in Biomedical engineering. A waterfall mentorship process is followed by the Board members for the working and the management committee members while managing the operations of the organization. BMESI organizes various workshops, events, and seminars throughout the year aimed at orienting the common man with the very essence of what biomedical engineers do.
