Assistant project coordinator at Rural Development Society - Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan
Rural Development Society (RDS) is a community organization working from January 2010 in both Rural & Urban areas of Punjab, Pakistan.RDS was started to empower the women who are highly vulnerable specially poor and helpless women of Pakistani society. RDS initiative is to empower women and adolescent girls by giving them skill trainings, vocational trainings, computer trainings and health care units. RDS believes with these trainings they will enable to become self supported and become equal and useful community member. In Pakistan adolescent girls are on highly risk because parents feel fear about her safety and economic security but due to early age marriage their dreams and rights are violated so RDS is giving awareness to their families to stop early marriage because this will cause high risk of complications in pregnancy and childbirth compared with older adolescents. Girls who are married at a very young age experience related educational, social, and personal disadvantages compared with those who marry later.RDS is creating opportunities for the children's and adolescent girls to educate them because RDS believes education reduces poverty and improves the quality of life. Educating girls and women translates to higher economic opportunity and productivity, reduced child mortality, improved family nutrition and health.
