Fine art photographs: Unusual subjects, creative views. When I came of age in the Seventies, I did many Seventies things, including majoring in Anthropology and delving deeply into Indian Mysticism. In that connection I encountered the concept of Immanent Divinity, the idea that godhood is present in all things, and found it profoundly appealing. As a photographer, then and now, my version of this idea is that the beautiful is present in all things and all aspects of all things. Thus it is that when I shoot flowers and plants I do not stop with the first view that presents itself. The excitement for me is in searching out the beauty that I believe must be present when unusual lighting or an unusual angle is adopted, or when conventionally beautiful parts are removed to reveal hidden lovelinesses within. This excitement is what my portfolios attempt to communicate.
