Based at the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto, the Mass Timber Institute aims to to establish Canada as a global leader in mass timber research and education and the development and export of sustainable mass timber products and technologies. The Institute will accomplish this by connecting leaders in industry, Indigenous communities, research, and education, and increasing the transfer of knowledge and understanding among these groups. The Institute is "virtual" since the R&D and teaching will be shared among partners, educators and researchers, with the opportunity for Tall Wood Building demonstration projects to be used as "living labs" or learning landscapes. Research themes include forestry and engineering including bio-composites and acoustics; architecture and design including building automation and prefabricated design; and building and construction including robotics and fire performance.Sign up for MTI's monthly newsletter below:https://masstimberinstitute.us4.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=6525ba317fe16b1f883b5e7f5&id=c6b483db29
