Jacked-Up was the brainchild of both the partners (Gursharan &Binu). The start-up was created in 2020 when the directorsrealised a clear gap in the market for healthy and tasty veganalternatives in Ireland. Both directors have roots in India and areinvolved in the Asian retail sector & food distribution industrywith 20 years of experience in Ireland, which provided access toan authentic main ingredient for a new vegan product - Jackfruit.Jackfruit is packed full of nutrition, is low in sugar andcalories and has the additional benefit of being similar intaste and texture to a recognizable food - pulled pork -making it the ultimate meat replacement. The growingmajority of people in big cities are turning towards healthyon-the-go meals. Vegan and vegetarian food trends havebeen increasing year on year as the public become moreknowledgeable about the choices they have and thepositive effects of a plant-based diet.
