Artigiano Imports is dedicated to sourcing and providing the most interesting, unique and unconventional selection of Italian wines in New Zealand.Founded by Richard Klein in 2004, Artigiano Imports aims to make fantastic Italian wines accessible and affordable for Kiwis to enjoy at home. Our ethos is to source wines directly from the winegrowers - vinaoili - people of the land, whose wine reflects their culture, their history and, above all, their place. Many of these wines are made according to natural, biodynamic and organic viticulture and winemaking practices. Working alongside Richard in bringing Italy's most captivating wines to New Zealand, is Artigiano Imports Operations Manager, Blair Fryer. Richard and Blair are both stalwarts of the Wellington hospitality scene, having previously owned Maria Pia's Trattoria and Vivo Wine Bar, respectively. Together, they now source Italian wines for Wellington's top restaurants and wine bars such as Shepherd, Glass and Puffin.
