Owner Jon Ament is committed to staying on top of the ever changing dynamics of the healthcare and insurance industries. In 2003, Jon branched out on his own to create AMENT BENEFITS, after spending 10 years internal experience working directly for the insurance carrier. His goal, then and now, is to offer benefit packages to individuals and small businesses that fit their needs and budgets. Jon has more than 20 years of industry experience-- working hands-on with members, employers, and insurance providers. Jon focuses his benefit consulting practice in the areas of group medical, life, dental, vision, disability, long-term care, and voluntary plans for employer groups. He has worked for three large national insurance companies, including CIGNA, Aetna-Prudential, and Humana. His background with these companies includes working as a New Business Manager, Sales Manager, and Associate Marketing Director over a twelve-year period. Prior to starting his own benefits consulting business, he worked with many employers (including some Fortune 500 firms) in the development and design of customized benefit programs, including self-funded plans. Jon holds a BSBA in Finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He also received his Masters of Business Administration from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri in 1998.
