Project Neutral is a non-profit organization that was initiated with the support of the Emerging Leaders Network, an initiative of the Toronto City Summit Alliance. The team is staffed by a diverse group of volunteers that work within a broad spectrum of fields and disciplines. Team members are ambitious Torontonians with two key characteristics in common; a passion for the environment and a commitment to the City of Toronto's leadership to minimize the impact of Climate Change. We are committed to enabling a Toronto neighbourhood to become the first urban carbon-neutral community in Canada. Through a competitive selection process, Wards 13 and 30 were chosen for their demonstrations of strong leadership, capability and determination. Currently, we are implementing a comprehensive framework, mainly focuses around our Household Survey, to support the process of achieving carbon neutrality. The understanding and knowledge this transformation generates will be translated into a replicable model and publicly shared to encourage all Canadian neighbourhoods to pursue carbon neutrality.
