The Adan Keynan Foundation is a non-governmental organization founded by Eldas Member of Parliament Hon. Adan Keynan. The Foundation has a dedicated and compassionate team of talented individuals who each bring a unique set of expertise and experience to the organization. Though everyone serves a different role, each person is committed to helping the organization realize its mission. We have a full time staff, volunteers and consultants who are all engaged in the management of its operations.The Adan Keynan Foundation is a non-governmental and non-profit making organization. It is a development and human centered non-governmental organization committed to improve livelihoods by working with local and international partners to reduce extreme poverty and hunger among vulnerable and marginalized groups.The Adan Keynan Foundation targets vulnerable and marginalized groups. Marginalization (sometimes also called social exclusion) refers to the relegation to the fringes of society due to a lack of access to rights, resources, and opportunities. It is a major cause of vulnerability, which refers to exposure to a range of possible harms, and being unable to deal with them adequately. In the context of the Foundation, marginalized and vulnerable groups include: the chronically poor persons living with disabilities;street children; women, especially the widowed and those in female-headed households; the youth; and those living far from the market centers, including the nomadic pastoral communities. Such people are not considered for education bursaries or access to other local initiatives aimed at supporting the poor and vulnerable.
