Established in 2010 Pizzelle (pronounced with ts sound, like Pizza) are traditional Italian waffle cookies. The name comes from the Italian word for "round" and "flat" (pizze). These delightful treats are made with dough or batter, pressed between two plates of iron, heated electrically or over a fire. There are a variety of patterns on the iron, typically a family crest, snowflake on one side and waffle or basket on the other side. It is generally believed that the Pizzelle originated in the Abruzzo (Abruzzi) south-central region of Italy. Today, in Italy the town of Salle and Cocullo hold yearly festivals that incorporate the Pizzelle. Pizzelle's Bistro was created because we've captivated family and friends over the years with our passion for food. Why the Pizzelle? We just love them so much and want to share this tasty treat with you. Please enjoy!
