One person every hour is diagnosed with Parkinson's in Australia. Incorporated in 1984, Parkinson's Western Australia Inc. provides a Parkinson's Nurse Specialist Service; Support Networks for people with Parkinson's and their family carers; and educational resources and training. It is estimated that there are some 8,000 people living with Parkinson's in Western Australia. We also have over 20 Support Groups throughout WA for people with Parkinson's, their partners and cares; and we provide therapeutic activities for people with Parkinson's such as Singing, Yoga and Art. In addition, we provide training and education to allied health professionals and medical students.
