MiddCORE is Middlebury's leadership and innovation program at Middlebury College.The MiddCORE+ suite of programming has three main offerings: MiddCORE, The Summer Intern Lab, and MiddCORE workshops. This cohort-style programming equips students with the skills, mindsets, and experiences to become effective leaders and creative problem solvers.The MiddCORE Program (J-Term/Summer) is a 4-week credit-bearing program that helps students build skills, create opportunities, and expand networks. Taught by 20+ industry professionals and with a focus on developing tomorrow's leaders and innovators, MiddCORE features the Strategic Challenge, an opportunity to work with world-class innovation consultants to solve real-time business challenges. Past Strategic Challenge partners include L.L.Bean, Orvis, Peet's Coffee, Google, and YouTube. In addition to the Strategic Challenge, MiddCORE mentors develop weekly hands-on challenges that inspire students to think creatively, operate outside their comfort zone, and deal with ambiguity. This collaborative environment leverages the skills of all disciplines, backgrounds, and majors in order to achieve cutting-edge solutions.The Summer Intern Lab is an 8-week leadership and professional development experience that runs in conjunction with students' summer internships. All sessions are led by industry professionals and are designed to sharpen professional skillsets, expand networks, and explore possibilities. MiddCORE Workshops are sessions that focus on leadership, professional development, and life skills. The sessions help students build capacities, identify opportunities, and become effective leaders.
