Started in 2011 as five people sharing an immense passion for Chekhov, The Seagull Project is now an award-winning ensemble championing the long-form rehearsal process and premiere Chekhovian work. The Seagull Project uses the work of Anton Chekhov to challenge, refine, and inspire the modern theater through intensive process, inventive productions, and international collaborations. These sessions began with a free-from model in which ensemble members would share their personal training regimens and methodologies before maturing into an exploration of THE SEAGULL, the final product of which was met with critical acclaim and toured to Ilkholm Theatre in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 2014. The Seagull Project has taken on THE THREE SISTERS (earning the Gregory Award for Outstanding Production in 2015) and THE CHERRY ORCHARD, and plans to finish the last of Chekhov's four major plays in 2020: UNCLE VANYA.
