Positive Tracks is a national, non-profit that helps ages 12-25 make social change using the power of physical, activity and play. We call it Sweating For Good. We believe that personal transformation happens when youth feel their voices matter - when they are active in the process of making change, when they are invested in the outcome, and when they are enjoying the effort. The power of sport, play and physical activity provides a compelling platform and playing field where youth can gather, educate and mobilize community while learning personal leadership skills and values that shape who they are. Even through COVID-19, youth are running, biking and rolling 5Ks to address hunger; they're designing virtual boot-camp workouts to illustrate and take action around racism and inequality; they're launching Burpee Challenges from their bedrooms to provide resources and education around mental health. We call it Sweating For Good. Through our program, youth are learning that something as simple as an obstacle course can ignite critical conversations and foster the basic framework of civic activism. To date, Positive Tracks has helped over 73,000 youth leaders turn 383,000 miles of athletic activity into advocacy and activism and $11.1 million for causes shaping our future.
