The Student Council KU Leuven is the official student council on University level, representing all students of the KU Leuven, whether those are studying in Leuven or elsewhere, whether they are Flemish or international students.Through its General Assembly, in which the student representatives of the faculties are consulted, the student council and its representatives defend the various interests of the student body of KU Leuven. Specifically, this mainly comes down to educational matters. A representativeof Student Council KU Leuven will e.g. work on the Education and Examination Regulations, think about the study process and the guidanceof first-year students, and contribute to a policy of quality education at the university. Student representatives of Studentenraad KU Leuven are official members of all governing bodies of KU Leuven - they are e.g. part of the Board of Governors, Academic Council and Executive Board.In addition, the Student Council KU Leuven also reflects on important issues such as international policy and ensuring diversity within the university community. This is done in cooperation with the various campus councils at local and regional level – so in Bruges, Leuven, Brussels, Gent or elsewhere – to contribute to the social and cultural policy.
