GYCO aims to inspire and transform the mindset of young people in Northern Uganda, affected by the aftermath of war. In the Art & Education Center in Gulu young Ugandans can participate in trainings for personal development, leadership and entrepreneurship. One of GYCO's major goals is to prepare young people for their future and to promote their personality so that they can work on their own future and achieve economic independence. All participants in the training programs are equipped with the skills to create a sustainable future for themselves.GYCO places particular emphasis on the promotion of young women. Uganda's society is still characterised by inequality between men and women.Young mothers receive coaching in educational issues, family issues and their personal development. In the Art Center, internationally experienced artists and curators share their expertise and technical knowledge with local artists. The GYCO Art Board has already discovered several talented artists whose works have been shown and successfully sold in Austria.GYCO would like to develop a hub for Ugandan art, because a new market for contemporary art revives the region and attracts more artists and the interest of international investors and supporters.GYCO is now looking for long-term partners to finance the construction of the Art & Education Center as well as the training programs in the coaching and art sector. These partners will go this way together with GYCO and support the youth of Northern Uganda.
