Mount Saint Charles Academy, a private, Catholic, grades 6-12,Junior-Senior High School, in the tradition of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, serves a co-educational community in a college preparatory environment. We challenge our students through a rigorous academic program and through religious and co-curricular experiences to become people of faith who use their talents and intellects to serve others. Each and every student is known, valued, treasured, and taught in partnership with the family. Accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges, Inc. Grades 6 -12 College Preparatory Co-educational Mount Saint Charles was founded in 1924 when Monsignor Charles Dauray and Brother Josephus, SC established the school on the hill in the area of Woonsocket known as Bernon Heights. The opening fulfilled their dream to establish a Catholic high school for the boys of this mill town. Throughout its history, Mount has focused on responding to the needs of the local communities. To meet these needs, in 1972, the Academy was transformed into a junior-senior, co-educational, day school. Each step taken by the Academy is a further realization of Msgr Dauray's and Br. Josephus' dream. From a boy's boarding/day school to who we are today the Academy has grown and prospered with the times.
