The First Tee of Contra Costa is a non-profit youth development program. We use the game of golf to teach kids life skills such as self management, interpersonal relations and goal setting and core values that are inherent to the game of golf. The mission of The First Tee of Contra Costa is to impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. The purpose of East Bay Golf Foundation is to develop quality Junior Golf programs and, through The First Tee of Contra Costa, provide access for kids who may not have an opportunity to experience the game. The game of golf instills and nurtures essential values. These values will be integrated into the instruction process by the coaches and instructors of the Junior Golf and The First Tee programs. The First Tee 9 Core Values are; Respect, Courtesy, Responsibility, Honesty, Sportsmanship, Confidence, Judgment, Perseverance, and Integrity. The First Tee of Contra Costa Life Skills Experience will be open to all youth, ages 7 thru 17 years old. Fee assistance is available for participants unable to afford our program tuition.
