OtoSim™, an Otoscopy training system, was launched in September 2011. A Pneumatic Otoscopy Trainer was launched in September 2012 and OphthoSim™ an Ophthalmology trainer was released in June 2013. A Mass Training upgrade was launched in 2014. We released the OtoSim Mobile™ in 2018 and the OphthoSim Mobile in 2019™. We have a pipeline of upgrades and new products under development for the future!OtoSim Inc. is based on technology developed by two Otolaryngologists at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto and the University of Toronto Medical School. Otoscopy is one of the worst acquired medical techniques and our goal is to have better training to improve patient outcomes in the future. OtoSim™ is a unit and process used to train medical students in Otoscopy (the use of an otoscope to examine the ear) Clinical studies have shown a 44% improvement in the diagnostic efficiency of students compared to regular classroom training alone.
