Founded in 1901, University of Toronto Press (UTP) is Canada's leading scholarly publisher and one of the largest university presses in North America. UTP publishes approximately 200 new scholarly, course, reference, and general-interest books each year and maintains a backlist of over 3,500 titles.In early 2008 University of Toronto Press acquired the Broadview Press publishing lists in anthropology, history, politics, and sociology. Broadview's editors in these areas, as well as a significant portion of Broadview's sales and marketing, production, and management teams, joined UTP's Scholarly Publishing team and are now part of the integrated Book Publishing Division.In partnership with the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto Press launched Rotman-UTP Publishing in October 2008, a new imprint devoted to publishing actionable business information of exceptional quality. More recently, UTP acquired the New Jewish Press from the Anne Tanenbaum Centre for Jewish Studies.
