Laura's whole working life has been about helping people, especially when they're at their most vulnerable. Now, Laura is continuing to do that, and is standing up for the place her family proudly calls home, as the Member for Currumbin in the Queensland Parliament.Prior to her election as the Member for Currumbin, Laura worked as a solicitor and a Commonwealth Prosecutor, including work on child exploitation and people smuggling. Most recently, she served as a Disciplinary Prosecutor in the Office of the Health Ombudsman, where she protected public health and safety through disciplinary action against health practitioners and service providers.Born at the old Allamanda Hospital, Laura grew up at Terranora. Like many kids, she spent her summers learning to swim at Rainbow Bay.Laura and her husband, Daniel, moved back to Currumbin to raise their young family. Laura wanted to give her kids the childhood and community she enjoyed so much.Queensland is a state of opportunity. Laura thinks it is time Queensland had more ambition and boldness. It is not good enough for Queensland to have the highest unemployment in the country. It is not good enough that it can take hours to get from one end of the Coast to the other. It is not good enough that waiting lists are blowing out.Laura wants to give back to her community, using her experiences to be a strong voice for locals. That's why Laura is proud to be a part of David Crisafulli's LNP team that will get Queensland working again.Laura Gerber is proud to be standing up for our community as your local Member for Currumbin, and as your voice to get Queensland working again.
