Yellowstone Academy was founded in July 2001 to provide a high quality, faith-based education for economically disadvantaged students. With nearly twenty years of experience, Yellowstone currently has seven classes of 8th grade graduates. Our alumni are now attending neighborhood, private, magnet and charter schools throughout Houston, and many of them are succeeding in some of Houston's most prestigious and challenging high schools. Three of our alumni classes have now completed high school, with an unprecedented graduation rate of 88%.Our graduates are continuing to pursue their full potential in college and with other post-secondary opportunities, including vocational certifications and the military. 75% of our college-age alumni have enrolled in a post-secondary degree or vocational certification program. In a community where students are not expected to enter college, let alone graduate high school, we are making an incredible impact.
