Sidelined USA is the first and only nonprofit to make specialized support resources accessible online, at no cost, for all permanently-sidelined student-athletes and their families nationwide. Sidelined USA is leading a national movement to better serve, resource, and inspire permanently-sidelined athletes to cope with their tremendous loss and find a meaningful way forward following medical exit from sport. Additionally, Sidelined USA seeks to elevate the standard of after-care for medically disqualified athletes through original research, education, and advocacy initiatives. Athletes within the Sidelined USA program report feeling a sense of relief that they are not alone through their grieving process and feel empowered and inspired to build new dreams and conquer new challenges. Just because an athlete can no longer personally compete in their sport, it does not mean they cannot stay engaged in the sports world in some capacity. Reuniting a permanently-sidelined athlete with their passion for sports can be a turning point for the athlete and can have a lifelong, positive impact on their lives. Sidelined USA's main organizational goal is to help re-connect the athlete with their passions through alternative avenues and inspire them to build a meaningful way forward.
