Senior Vice President, Programs & Strategic Learning at The New York Women's Foundation - New York, New York, US
Established in 1987, The New York Women’s Foundation has advanced a robust philanthropic strategy rooted in gender, racial, and economic justice, placing us among the largest women-led grantmaking organizations in the world. Among the first to practice trust-based philanthropy that many have now embraced, we take our role in influencing the future of philanthropy sincerely. Challenging the traditional top-down philanthropic approach, we engage on day one and invest in emerging women-led strategies. Early investment sets the stage for community leaders to flourish. Bringing them to the decision-making table builds agency, while ensuring funds find their best use. By breaking down barriers and facilitating conversations at the deepest level, The Foundation goes beyond the grant to enable continued support and sustain progress. The Foundation's core areas include: Economic and Environmental Justice: Championing workers’ rights, dismantling systemic economic barriers in the backdrop of a growing climate crisis. Safety, Health Equity & Bodily Autonomy: Expanding equitable abortion and birth control access, gender-affirming healthcare, and informed consent, and supporting survivor-led strategies for healing justice. Civic Engagement and Leadership: Strengthening democratic systems, expanding representation of women and gender-expansive people in civic and political leadership.
