Founder/Coordinator at Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America, St. Louis Chapter - Saint Louis, MO, US
In 1981, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation, St. Louis Chapter (AAFA-STL) was founded by a small group of doctors and social workers who realized the tremendous need in the St. Louis community for an organization that could provide disadvantaged children with life-saving asthma and allergy medications, equipment, education, and support. 35 years later, AAFA-STL's programs continue to grow due to high demand. The mission of AAFA-STL is to serve those affected by asthma and allergies through education, support and resources. The primary objective of AAFA-STL is to use our programs to ensure that all children in our community, despite their families' economic situation, have access to the medication, education, and equipment necessary to manage their asthma and allergies effectively. In working toward the organization's mission and objective, AAFA-STL has become a recognized asthma and allergy resource for the St. Louis community and serves thousands of parents, children, teachers, school nurses, day-care providers, nurses, and doctors each year. AAFA-STL serves 6 counties: St. Louis City (MO), St. Louis County (MO), Jefferson (MO), St. Charles (MO), St. Clair (IL) and Madison (IL).Through AAFA-STL's programs and services, more than 18,000 individuals gain access (at no cost to families or schools), annually.
