Trustee in charge of Fundraising & Marketing at The Vipingo Village Fund - Cranbrook, England, United Kingdom
A small, family run charity that is completely hands-on. Registered as a UK charity in October 2007, we have have three distinct arms to the charity. Education, conservation and sustainable projects. Our education project is the Future Hope Montessori School which educated and feeds 60 AIDS orphans for free from the ages of 3-9.These are divided into three years and we limit our numbers to ensure excellent teaching. It is a struggle to keep going and we urge anyone visiting our website to download a standing order form and sponsor a child for £5.00 per month which covers the cost of two meals per day and education. We have a Turtle conservation beach which has been extremely successful and last year we had 108 nests which resulted in over 10,000 turtel hatchlings being released back into the sea.We also have three sustainable projects; our Kanga Kitchen Kompany sewing cooperative which creates attractive gifts and kitchen items such as oven gloves, cafetierre covers, beach bags and our new best seller shoe bags! The chicken cooperative has grown into a very worthwhile project and now turns over 100 hens every 6-7 weeks. Finally, we are about to start a market garden to provide additional food for the kids.
