There is a point where a house approaches a work of art, and the Captain Farris House Bed and Breakfast Inn is such a case. This Cape Cod jewel of a house was built in 1845 in a historic section of South Yarmouth known as Bass River Village. This former sea captain's house was purchased in 2005 by Michael & Nancy Lumia. A perfect blend of antique and contemporary, the inn has ten magnificent rooms, each one a romantic getaway, lovingly detailed with modern amenities; private baths, some with Jacuzzis; beautiful antique king or queen-size beds; cable TVs with DVD players and in-house dvds; bathrobes; and air conditioning. Two suites upstairs feature sunken bathrooms, queen-size beds, living rooms, and upscale European flair. One room offers a queen-size four-poster bed, Jacuzzi for two, and a walk-out sundeck. The Captain Farris House is in the National Register of Historic Places and exudes all the warmth and color you expect in a top-notch bed and breakfast. Full gourmet breakfasts are served either in the dining room or in the glass enclosed courtyard. Afternoon refreshments and evening cordials are also served.
