Started in 1989 but a group of dedicated volunteers, Cape Fear Botanical Garden has been a cornerstone of the Cumberland County area. Situated at the convergence of the Cape Fear River and Cross Creek, the Garden is home to many native plants and natural landscapes. Visitors and members can delight in the beauty of nature, explore a turn of the century farm house and general store, walk the peaceful trails and more. In 2020, the Garden added the Eleanor and Raymond Manning Children's Garden with an 14-16' elevated tree walk, a fossil dig, reading area, and other activities for children. Cape Fear Botanical Garden is also well known as a premiere event venue hosting hundreds of private events each year. Throughout the year, the Garden provides public events that include holiday traditions, gardening festivals, art events for children and many more fun and inviting opportunities.
