We are a consumer facing app and a veterinary team portal owned & operated by veterinarians for veterinarians and pet parents. Beginning with teaching consumers the basics of estimating Body Condition Score (BCS) and providing a app/diary for them to enter caloric intake and activity we hope to "move the needle" on the seemingly impossible pet obesity epidemic for dogs & cats. We have just submitted a research paper for publication in a peer reviewed veterinary journal that demonstrates a home health technology ecosystem (scale, smart feeder activity monitor, web camera) can increase weight loss by 4X in multiple cat households.Keeping the veterinarian in the loop and the VPR intact whenever disease is present (e.g. BCS 7/9 or higher is central to our mission/vision. Providing a portal for education & collaborating on future home health research research is high on our priority list in areas like obesity, osteoarthritis, feline & canine frailty, dentistry, diabetes etc. Having demonstrated that collaborative research between a veterinary school and practitioners can develop an immediately usable solution fuels us to consider any other disease that can be detected, treated or monitored remotely by a pet parents and their veterinarian using our resources and portal.Finally we are all about building the pet parent & pet rescue community. Our initial subscription offering is Fit Pets for Rescues (formerly Pets Reducing for Rescues) which in its 11 year history has donated over $25K to local Madison rescues.
