Established in 1938, the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) is Singapore's pioneer arts education institution, well-known for grooming diverse artistic talent. Through research-based practice and experiential learning, NAFA nurtures creative talent who lead at the forefront of both traditional and contemporary art practices, in Singapore and abroad. The Academy offers a comprehensive range of full-time diploma courses and delivers degree programmes in partnership with reputable universities from Singapore and the UK. Programmes are structured under three schools: the School of Art and Design (which offers fine art, design and media, fashion studies and 3D design), the School of Music (which offers classical Western and Chinese music studies) and the School of Arts Management, Dance and Theatre. Since 1999, NAFA has received polytechnic-level funding from the Ministry of Education, Singapore, and in 2011, the Academy became the first comprehensive arts education institution to receive the coveted 4-year EduTrust certification awarded by the Council for Private Education.
