Border Community Alliance (BCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with offices in Tubac, Arizona. BCA supports the educational, public policy, social, healthcare, cultural and economic development of the US/Mexico border region to improve the quality of life for border communities.BCA's goals are:• To educate local, national and international stakeholders about border realities, issues and opportunities.• Provide a positive, fact-based influence on the formation of border related public policy to improve the social and economic vitality of our border communities. • Work with our partner in Sonora, Mexico, the Fundación del Empresariado Sonorense A.C. (FESAC), to create, support and improve programs that promote the social and economic viability of our border communities and strengthen the ties between organizations and programs on both sides of the border. A special emphasis shall be placed on policies and programs that affect the Santa Cruz County, Arizona; Nogales, Sonora Mexico border region. • Communicate the richness and importance of a culturally diverse and economically critical border region by providing compelling and authoritative information to correct inaccurate and unbalanced images of the border in local, regional, national and international media.BCA provides free technical assistance, board of directors training and capacity building to the non-profit sector on both sides of the border. Additionally, BCA has a cross border tour program that has taken over 400 participants from all over the US and Europe to experience first hand the beauty of the region and the amazing community organizations that are building the future of the border region. BCA also sponsors a student intern program that has brought students from such outstanding academic centers as Stanford, the University of San Francisco, the University of Arizona and Sciences Po in Paris for programs of study and service.
