Kupfer is a project space that functions as a platform for experimental exhibitions. Opened in 2017, Kupfer has showcased the work of nearly 50 artists from different generations and geographies with a focus on those who are currently underrepresented in the London art circuit. Our programme includes solo and group exhibitions intimated both by our internal team and guest artists and curators. Located in railway arch, our space stands apart from the traditional ‘white cube' model and the gallery layout can be flexibly reconfigured each time according to the needs of each project. In establishing this open model, we strive to be a testing ground for new ideas and practices where artists can develop their work in an environment that is free from commercial and bureaucratic pressures. Kupfer follows a co-operative model, with a work ethic based on collaboration with many individuals and a DYI approach to exhibition-making.
