The Relationship Skills Center works to build a better community by strengthening peoples' relationship skills. Relationship skills are the building blocks needed for strong families, the backbone of strong communities. Through classroom training and community outreach, we teach communication skills, conflict management, problem-solving, and more to parents and youth. Couples and single parents learn the skills necessary to make healthy choices for themselves and their children, married couples gain the tools to build a strong and lasting foundation, and teens learn the skills needed for healthy relationship behaviors like managing uncomfortable emotions and treating others with respect. Since opening its doors in 2005, we've helped more than 3,000 modest-income families enjoy happier, more rewarding lives. Our goal is to see that every child is nurtured by adults who are equipped with the skills necessary to cope with life's challenges, and who love their children unconditionally. For teens, we support learning relationship skills early so they develop a realistic understanding of relationships beginning with their own self awareness. We work in partnership with dozens of community agencies, nonprofit groups, schools, colleges and faith-based organizations. They refer parents and couples to us and incorporate our youth program into their own activities because they recognize the benefit of building strong families and healthy relationships.
