The German-Canadian Benevolent Society operates the German-Canadian Care Home, and also organizes many outreach events for the German-Canadian community. The Society is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, which is elected by the membership. Society activities are supported by regular fundraising events. In addition, we are supported by a number of community and business organizations.The mission of the German-Canadian Benevolent Society is to provide quality care and support for seniors in British Columbia. The Society works in partnership with the staff of the German-Canadian Care Home, the health authorities and the wider community to offer a continuum of support services. We would like to be recognized as an innovative leader in complex care and are committed to high standards, ongoing improvement and the well-being of those we serve.We respect our organization's history and reflect the traditions and cultural roots of the German-speaking community while welcoming and supporting a multicultural environment. The Society supports German-speaking seniors in the community through its outreach efforts. We strive to promote our culture and values through a vibrant, engaged Society membership. We foster open communication, progressive leadership, and team cohesiveness throughout the organization.
