Steel Pencil's main office is located in Palmerston North New Zealand, with accompanying offices in Manila Philippines and Brisbane Australia. We demonstrate high quality offerings with fast turn over times due to our large capacity and efficient team dynamic. At Steel Pencil, we believe in providing a service that is tailored to meet the demands and expectations of all our clients'. Our belief is that construction projects should be based on co-operation, best construction practices and guarantee confidence in design and execution. This leads to higher productivity, shorter build times, lower construction costs and the ability to manage the asset over its lifetime. Steel Pencil began as an in-house unit of respected consulting engineers. The structural detailing business unit came from a drive in the 1990s to better serve clients by "pre-building" their projects in one electronic model. The pioneering work done at that time proved the concept (now globally accepted as BIM - Building Information Modelling). The result was reduced total costs and better management of the design and construction process. Steel workshop drawings were a major part of this "one model" concept and the shop drawing business unit grew, in January 2003, into an independent company, now Steel Pencil Group Limited.
