Chairman of the Board Make a Difference Ministries/Camp Highland
Camp Highland traces its history back to Lula, Georgia when Bill Chapman began leading small groups on camping trips. As early as the first session, God made his purpose for Camp clear - to lead others into a growing relationship with Him through high adventure. Bill and his wife Betsy, along with a small group of trained volunteers, soon introduced schools, churches, and businesses to the thrill of growing to know Christ through high adventure and the path for Camp's outreach began to take shape. In 1996, Camp relocated to Dahlonega, where rustic facilities provided campers with an outdoor experience that created many teachable moments. In 2003, Camp moved to its permanent facility on Carters Lake in historic Ellijay. The facilities in Ellijay were originally similar to those in Dahlonega, but there have been many changes. Expanded housing capacity along with new facilities and activities now allow Camp to serve more than ever before and continue to help others learn and grow.
