Macon-Bibb County is the 4th largest city in state of Georgia and is a cultural, transportation, and logistics hub for the region and state.On July 30, 2011, the voters approved the creation of a new, consolidated government that will serve all citizens living in Bibb County. The new government is called Macon-Bibb County and serves as both the municipal and county government.On January 1, 2014, the separate city and county governments were dissolved and replaced with a consolidated Macon-Bibb County government.
