The SRC is the premier postgraduate trade policy training institution in the Caribbean and prepares young professionals and builds the capacity of key stakeholders to effectively interact and negotiate with global, regional and national institutions and agencies. The principal areas of research are trade policy governance and law, international trade and economic relations, industrial and innovation policy formulation. The specific areas of research and outreach are on issues like multilateral and regional trade agreements (e.g. WTO, EPAs), trade liberalization, climate change policies and trade, migration and development, agricultural trade, and cultural and creative industries. In summary, the mission of the SRC is to contribute to the enhanced competitiveness and sustainable development of the Caribbean region.
