As a mother of 6, American Kathryn Wiley knows the profound effect a mother can have on her young.Armed with the knowledge that Haiti has the highest infant mortality rate in the Western Hemisphere, Kathryn started a movement. Inspired by the One for One giving of TOMS shoes, this mother also wanted to lead her children in understanding that a for-profit business can give back to the world. So in 2011, Kathryn purchased Rockin' Baby: a baby carrying brand with already a huge celebrity following for baby slings and pouches. She decided to evolve the company into a "Mother to Mother" business. Understanding the importance of the bond a mother can share with her infant, Kathryn decided that with every sling sold, Rockin' Baby would donate one to a mother in need in Haiti and Kenya. In 2013, Kathryn met British Mark Jeynes at a Childrenswear Trade Show in New York who agreed to help her grow the brand internationally.Inspired by the brand and the "Mother to Mother" charity, he persuaded her to add more categories to the concept and in 2014 moved to Rockin' Baby with a view to taking the company and the charity to a whole new level...In January 2015 Rockin' Baby launched its new category:childrenswear. A stunning range of clothing from newborn to Age 10 but with a twist - the first company in the world to do one-for-one on kidswear. After joining up with ChildFund International, they will donate an item of clothing from their 'hero' collection to children in desperate need.Rockin' Baby now has two homes: production and distribution is based in Richmond, Virgina, USA whilst buying, design and selling is based in London, UK.It is - for now - a small business with big ambition but with already a vast list of distributors, reps, agents and retailers spanning the globe. Help us help others: Mother to Mother. Child to Child.
