The Grimes Public Library was officially founded on June 15, 1972 with the passing of a city ordinance that established a library. Originally located at 213 South Main Street, the library was relocated to a new building at 200 North James Street in 1994.The Grimes Public Library is a comfortable and productive place to connect with the community in person and online. The library strives to provide free and available resources and services that promote reading readiness, provide access and guidance for information technology, support lifelong learning, and stimulate the imagination through reading, viewing, and listening for pleasure.
