The Church of the Nazarene is a Protestant Christian church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. Organized in 1908, the church is now home to more than 1.7 million members worshiping in almost 21,000 local congregations in 151 world areas.This local congregation began in 1914, when a group of members of First Church of the Nazarene established East San Diego Nazarene Sunday School to serve people who lived in that area of the city. In 1983, the congregation moved to its new location in Mission Valley.
