EUMEPS is the association and voice of European Manufacturers of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS). Our members cover the entire EPS value chain from raw material suppliers to EPS converters and recyclers as well as supporting industries including machinery and additive suppliers. Members include individual companies as well as 22 European national EPS associations. This unique representation of the entire value chain ensures that EUMEPS represents both large companies and small- and medium-sized converters and recyclers. Altogether our membership represents more than 1,000 companies, most of them small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and employs more than 80.000 people.With 98% air and 2% polystyrene, Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) is a very versatile material with unique cushioning and lightweight properties. These characteristics make EPS probably the most cost-effective protective and insulating material, being the material of choice for our customer industries for many years.EUMEPS activities focus on two main market segments: Construction and Power Parts, including packaging and shape moulded parts.Together with our members we are committed to promoting the benefits of EPS products, and have joined forces to reach the ambitious European recycling targets by 2025. Published in 2018, the the EUMEPS Pledge is a step towards this goal, demonstrating our ambition and commitment to accelerating our current recycling programme.
