Avant Environmental Services, Inc. in western Colorado is managed by Ed Baltzer who has prepared hundreds of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments since 1990. He has helped clients identify and remediate asbestos, solvent, petroleum, PCB, metal and other contamination in soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and buildings. Clean properties are confidently purchased and developed with a finding of no recognized environmental conditions, or cleaned up with a Voluntary Cleanup and Remediation Plan, a No-Further Action Determination, and/or an Environmental Covenant as provided by Colorado or Utah statutes and regulations. Such work has been completed in rural areas and in Aspen, Telluride, Grand Junction, Palisade, De Beque, Rifle, Parachute, Colbran, Mesa, Gateway, Fruita, Craig, Meeker, Glenwood Springs, Vail, Montrose, Delta, Ouray, Ridgway, Rico, Gunnison, Crested Butte, and Rangely Colorado; and in Moab, Vernal, Green River, and Price, Utah. A Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) is a report prepared for a real estate holding which identifies potential or existing environmental contamination liabilities. The analysis typically addresses both the underlying land as well as physical improvements to the property. ESAs provide liability protection to landowners under CERCLA ("Superfund") law. The Environmental Site Assessment process is defined by the American Standards for Testing and Materials (ASTM). Avant has staff who have prepared ESAs for over 27 years, one of whom has taught an upper-level college class on preparing ASTM ESAs.
