Serving students since 1992, the John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship in the Farmer School of Business at Miami University is internationally-recognized for its emphasis on strong academic research and immersive, real-world learning opportunities in startup and venture capital, social entrepreneurship and impact investing, corporate innovation and technology commercialization, and creativity. Distinguishing features include a cross-disciplinary focus that engages more than 4,000 undergraduates from every major across campus annually, curricular and co-curricular programs that integrate effectively with the entrepreneurial ecosystem and engage more than 1,000 students each year, and impressive numbers of opportunities to gain practical, hands-on experience.Central to the design of our undergraduate entrepreneurship program is a belief in the transformative power of learning by doing to prepare students who are "job ready, day one." Winner of the 2020 NASDAQ Center of Entrepreneurial Excellence Award given annually to the top entrepreneurship program and institute in the world, the John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship has been ranked in the "Top 10 Undergraduate Public Schools for Entrepreneurship Studies" in the nation for 13 consecutive years by Entrepreneur Magazine and The Princeton Review® (ranked #5 in 2020).
