The Montgomery County Food Bank is a 501(c) (3) Non-Profit Organization, a partner with the Houston Food Bank and a member of the Texas Food Bank Network and a member of Feeding America.BRIEF HISTORY:The Montgomery County Food Bank was created in 1985 by a concerned group of people who volunteered and recognized the need for a formal organization to distribute food to disadvantaged families and those in crisis in our community. Last year, 10 million nutritional meals were distributed to the food insecure alongside the 5,000 volunteers who of gave their time to serve those in need in Montgomery County, TX. The Food Bank has a volunteer Board of Directors – one of whom is a founding board member. Chartered by the State of Texas, the Food Bank is a charitable non-profit organization and granted tax-exempt status.
