The university was reopened under the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on Nov. 15, 1945. November 15th is the annual tradition of the university.On March 24, 1962, Prime Minister Pham Van Dong signed the Decision No. 42 / CP establishing the University of Transport and Communications. Ngày 15/11 hàng năm được lấy là ngày Truyền thống của Trường.
