A company usually intends on spreading word regarding a product by adopting a face-to face approach. Selling requires a personal touch and hence a seller is better equipped to promote the product to possible clients. Personal selling can be done in two ways, one is via direct-to-consumer channel and the other one is through retail. The retail approach entails a seller interacting with possible clients that approach the seller and are curious about a product. Direct channel involves a salesperson visiting potential clients so as to create awareness of the product that is being launched or inform the customers about new offers they may not be aware of.
